Description: In 1921, following the World War I armistice, the Allies occupy a section of German territory in order to obtain war reparations. The French troops are situated in the Rhenish territory, whose first French customs post is located at Gerresheim. The agreement with the civilians seems cordial: the soldiers check a few vehicles and distribute candy to children. The review of other customs offices is an opportunity to see Duisburg, the Ruhr bridge, the Düsseldorf windmills, and the Homberg bridge.
